Beginner Salsa Mondays 6-8pm OCTOBER

$100.00

Beginners Welcome- this is our entire INTRODUCTION to Salsa Course which runs from September through October. If you’re committed, save some money and sign up for the entire course!

Dates: Mondays 6-8pm in September and October
Location: 107 W Beverley St Staunton VA

Class Overview:

Month 1 (September) focuses on foundational steps and closed position moves as well as dile que no and guapea. We will also learn enchufla (inside turn) moves including several arm holds.

Month 2 (October) focuses on vacilala (outside turn) series and add ons to put foundational figures together for combinations.

This fall, we have 3 teachers, a HUGE space, and we are providing 2 hours of instruction every week!

After our 9 week course, you should have a basic understanding of salsa and be able to lead or follow a simple dance. All Salsa students are encouraged to take Rueda for free (Tuesdays 7-8pm) for additional practice.

What to Expect:

Our Salsa class will guide you through the fundamentals of Cuban-style salsa, including basic steps, timing, and the essential turns and moves that characterize Casino dancing. You will learn how to lead or follow in a partner setting, and how to interpret the music to make your dance both fluid and dynamic. Each week, we build upon the foundations, gradually introducing more complex combinations and patterns. The class not only focuses on steps and technique but also on the style, history, culture, and musicality.

- Prepare to sweat- this class will be a workout!
- No partner needed

- LGBT+ friendly
- Come as you are! Sneakers welcome
- This class is not accessible friendly

- Salsa is from Cuban and Puerto Rican cultures and as such, names of moves and figures are in Spanish and this class is taught in Spanglish

Cancellation Policy- We do not offer any refunds or makeups. If you need to miss a class, we recommend following along to the videos sent to your email every month.
